About ESR
 
  Engineered Soil Repairs, Inc. (ESR) was founded in 1992 by the current owners: Steve O’Connor, Bill Gibson, Mark Wilhite, and Morgan Anderson. All members of the group had extensive backgrounds in the type of work ESR does and decided to start their own company. In the early days, the company was headquartered at Mr. O’Connor’s home with two of the owners’ wives acting as office support. The ESR employee roster consisted of the four owners, two wives, and a handful of laborers. All of the equipment used, except for some hand tools, was rented in the early going.

Because the principals were already well established in the field, the workload began to increase at a steady pace. After one year, the number of employees increased considerably and the company owned several pieces of equipment and the headquarters was moved to a small office in Pleasant Hill, CA. A modest equipment yard was established across the street from the office. Through the mid 1990’s the demand increased dramatically. As business increased, so did the number of employees and amount of trucks and equipment. ESR outgrew the office and equipment yard in Pleasant Hill and operations were moved to its current location in Walnut Creek, CA in 1995.

Since 1992, ESR has completed over 2,500 projects ranging in cost from $1,500 to $2.5 million. The engineering staff has increased to six full time licensed engineers and the construction division now numbers over 50. ESR has a fleet of trucks and large equipment including pickups, dump trucks, excavators, loaders, dozers, compactors, and many others. From its modest beginning, ESR has grown to be a Bay Area leader in the foundation and landslide repair field with average annual gross revenues of over $12 million. Since its beginning, ESR has been a perennial member of the better business bureau honor roll and in the last several years has been Diamond Certified for customer satisfaction.

Founded by civil engineers and construction managers, ESR designs its own projects, which enables us to maximize efficiency and communication between designers and builders. We have a reputation for taking on and successfully completing difficult projects. We believe that our efficiency are a large part of our success.
